Region

Across Great Britain, 4,924 households had their Housing Benefit capped as at May 2024. Down by 140 on February 2024.

As a result of lower cap levels, the number of newly capped households (Housing Benefit only) started increasing in November 2016 but has since tailed off

The number of currently capped households (Housing Benefit only) has fallen since August 2018

In May 2024, the main reason for off-flow was an open Working Tax Credit claim in the household
