Region

Across Great Britain, 340 households had their Housing Benefit capped as at August 2025. Down by 194 on May 2025.

As a result of lower cap levels, the number of newly capped households (Housing Benefit only) started increasing in November 2016 but has since tailed off

The number of currently capped households (Housing Benefit only) has fallen since August 2018

In August 2025, the main reason for off-flow was an open Working Tax Credit claim in the household
