Dataset: People on Universal Credit
Description
People on legacy benefits are migrating across onto Universal Credit (UC).
There are three ways a claimant can migrate onto UC from legacy benefits, these consist of natural, voluntary and managed migrations. This new indicator captured those who follow the managed migration path.
Those claimants who are part of managed migration receive migration notices, informing them that they need to move to UC by a specified date.
An individual on Universal Credit at the count date will be recorded as a 'Move to UC' claimant if they previously received a migration notice and then subsequently claimed UC as part of the Move to UC process.

Quality Statement
The Move to UC indicator is sourced by linking Universal Credit Full Service (UCFS) data with data from the administrative system that identifies legacy benefit claimants who have been sent a Migration Notice inviting them to claim UC.
