Description

The duration of an individual's current claim is calculated using the difference between the dates the claimant signed their claimant commitment and the count date.

Classification

For Universal Credit data, duration is available in bands.

Applicable to: all claimants claiming Universal Credit for:

Up to 3 months (less than 91 days)
3 months up to 6 months (91 to 182 days)
6 months up to 1 year (183 to 365 days)
1 year and up to 2 years (366 to 730 days)
2 years and up 3 years (731 to 1095 days)
3 years and up to 4 years (1096 to 1460 days)
4 years and up to 5 years (1461 to 1825 days)
5 years and up to 6 years (1826 to 2190 days)
6 years and up to 7 years (2191 to 2555 days)
7 years and up to 8 years (2556 to 2920 days)
8 years and up to 9 years (2921 to 3285 days)
9 years and up to 10 years (3286 to 3650 days)
10 years and over (3651 days or more)

Quality Statement

Duration of claim on the count date is calculated by taking the difference between the date the claimant signed their claimant commitment from the Universal Credit Full Service (UCFS) database and the count date.
