Description

A PIP claimant's main disabling condition is recorded during their assessment. Customers who withdraw their claim, are disallowed prior to their assessment or who fail to attend their assessment will not have a main disabling condition recorded. Medical conditions are shown as recorded on the PIP Computer System (PIPCS).

The primary/main disabling condition is identified during the PIP assessment process. This reflects the condition considered to have the most significant impact on the individual's function in relation to the assessment criteria. In cases where a claimant has multiple conditions or disabilities that affect daily living or mobility, all are considered during the assessment. However, only the primary condition is recorded on the data used to produce these statistics.
